"But Jesus passed through the midst of them and went on his way." Luke 4:30
Friends,
Jesus almost didn't make it through his first sermon!
He started out fine, but then he began saying what some didn't want to hear. They stood up, got in his way, and tried to kill him.
But Jesus walked through the midst of those who wished him harm. How? Did others stand up for him, and get between him and harm?
People are still getting in the way of Jesus. Sometimes it's us! Sometimes it's the politically powerful, but morally weak.
In the end, Jesus will always go his way. Our job? Stop getting in his way. So we can go his way.
